Questions banks ask.

What is checked for a merchant?

The business against GST, company registry and Udyam records, its documents for tampering, its directors and beneficial owners with eKYC and face match, and its payout account before the first settlement.

Are the directors verified like customers?

Yes. Each director and beneficial owner goes through eKYC against the record, a liveness check and a face match, so a shell merchant cannot be opened behind a borrowed name.

What about a merchant that registered last month?

Its age comes back as a signal. On its own it is worth a closer look, and no more; a new business with a director linked to closed mule accounts is a different matter.

Can it keep a ring of merchants out?

Merchants, directors, devices and payout accounts are linked in the mule graph, so a ring that shares any of them shows as one cluster rather than as separate applications.
